CDI-Cast, Communicating with physicians: How you say it matters as much as what you say [Includes a review of the hospital-physician relationship assessment]Program description This session focuses on the Asking and Coaching components of the CAMP™ Method for clinical documentation training. Because these two components are important to ensuring sustainability of any training that you conduct, it is essential to “ask” and “coach” physicians in a way that engages them. After you have identified the specific issues to be addressed using the skills from Program 1, in Program 4 you learn how to manage the conversation with physicians in a way that results in a positive outcome. Case studies from training conducted at several healthcare organizations will be used as examples. You will learn how to prepare for the best outcome in the “asking” and “coaching” portions of the program and, you will learn how to prepare extemporaneously when unanticipated questions or concerns arise. The role of the physician peer is also discussed and suggestions for the qualifications and experience of your physician peer instructor are described. Audio Sample From this Session: Session tools
